I, VickiG
Foundation Trilogy
I, Robot
Isaac Asimov
The trilogy is a vast undertaking spanning centuries and galaxies. That doesn’t leave a lot of room for detail, which I think make it both more enjoyable and long lasting. Many science-fiction books and stories are inundated with detail, and once technology catches up, which is frighteningly fast these days, the books become archaic and naïve. The possible future advances of psychology are much more amenable to this “prophesying” of science-fiction. At least, that’s what I think now.
I, Robot is more technical, since it deals with robots, but its basis is still on psychology and logic. The book is more like a collection of short stories pasted together through one main character recounting her experiences. We all know that Will Smith is going to be starring in the upcoming movie version of this book. However, I wasn’t able to find his character in the book. That’s because its not there!! The movie is “inspired” by these stories. Hmmm…
